Pageants in Nevada, from the Strip to the Sierra
Nevada is mostly desert and mountain basin, with the bright lights of Las Vegas in the south and Reno and Lake Tahoe in the north near the Sierra Nevada. Entries come from Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, from Reno and Sparks, from the capital Carson City, and from towns such as Elko in the northeast.
Entertainment, hospitality and tourism shape daily life in southern Nevada, and the state has a big community of performers, dancers, models, stylists and makeup artists. UNLV in Las Vegas and the University of Nevada in Reno add students, while northern Nevada is known for outdoor life around Tahoe.
Las Vegas and Reno are about seven hours apart by car, with mostly open desert between them. AmericaBeauty Nevada runs every stage online, so a candidate in Reno and one in Henderson both reach voters through the same kind of shared profile link, and shift workers vote at any hour.
Nevada cities with their own contest page
Women from Reno, Henderson, Sparks, Carson City, Elko and every other Nevada city choose "Other city in Nevada" when they enter. Each city still gets its own city stage with a titleholder in each category.
